The Book of Hopes shortlisted for Waterstones Book of the year

Earlier this year, I was asked by Katherine Rundell to contribute to an anthology she was putting together to celebrate hope in dark times.

The Book of Hopes is available online for free, but it’s now been published as a gorgeous hardback edition. With part of the profits going to raise money for NHS charities to support the amazing work of Doctors and Nurses and hospital-staff during lockdown.

In the last few weeks I’ve been given two more fab pieces of news about the Book of Hopes…

First, it’s going to be released as an audiobook, read by Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Bailey Smith. My poem ‘Football Boots’ is read by Stephen Fry, who is just mellifluous to hear!

I’ve also just found out that The Book of Hopes has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Book of the Year 2020. It’s such an honour, and I’m proud to be involved in the project, with the fantastic writer and editor and organiser of it all, Katherine Rundell, and the whole team at Bloomsbury.

BOOK OF HOPES Published

PROUD to say that my little poem is a part of this anthology of HOPE: called THE BOOK OF HOPES. Put together by amazing children’s author Katherine Rundell, it is filled with bite-sized stories poems and pictures of HUMOUR, JOY and HOPE. A digital copy of the book is FREE to read digitally ( from 27.04.20) on the literacy trust’s website. Here–
